Former WNBA President Donna Orender will headline the Women’s Wednesdays series premiere, which will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Treasury on the Plaza.
Orender was president of the WNBA for six years and worked with the PGA Tour for 17 years, ending in the Office of the Commissioner. She is now the head of Generation W, a brand focused on educating, inspiring and connecting women and girls.

Orender has been recognized as one of the top 10 Most Powerful Women in Sports and one of Newsweek’s 100 most influential people in sports and has been honored for her dedication to community development, diversity and leadership and is a sought after speaker on teamwork, motivation, gender/diversity and leadership.
The 2016 Women’s Wednesdays series will be at the Treasury on the Plaza every Wednesday in June.
The speakers are accomplished national and local speakers who will share their personal stories of struggle and triumph and their words of wisdom to help inspire attendees to embrace their own potential and possibilities.
Last year, 1,200 women attended the series.
Tickets are $10 for general admission. VIP tickets are $30 and include VIP seating, a premium cocktail and hors d’ oeuvres.
The local nonprofit organization Home Again St. Johns will be featured at this Wednesday’s event and will receive 10 percent of ticket sales.
Women’s Wednesdays is presented by Bozard Lincoln, a local company with women in critical leadership positions and more than 30 women on its staff.
Bozard will host Girlfriends Night Out for each event where local women will have a chance to win VIP tickets and a free Lincoln for the night.
The St. Augustine Record will host the Cocktails & Connections Hour from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., which will feature Power Networking, with a chance to meet and connect with local women leaders.
Funkytown Fitness will get the crowd pumped and a brand-new She Is Fierce! photobooth will be on hand for memorable photos with friends.
