Music in the Box features The Obscure Brothers

The next Music in the Box at Limelight Theatre will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday with The Obscure Brothers — Charley Simmons and Bob Patterson.

These two local musicians join together as a duo and perform in local venues such as O.C. White’s in downtown St. Augustine.

Patterson and Simmons have spent their lives entertaining folks with their music and stories.

Patterson received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Florida Storytelling Association, The Fellow Man and Mother Earth Award from the Stetson Kennedy Foundation and numerous songwriter awards including Best Florida Song.

Simmons is a Utah State Flattop Guitar Champion, a Wyoming Fingerstyle Guitar Champion, a Gamble Rogers Fingerstyle Guitar Champion and a winner in the KRCL Singer/Songwriter Competition.

The Obscure Brothers are a unique collaboration showcasing their songwriting and performing abilities in the folk, blues, swing, bluegrass and jazz tradition to the delight of their audiences.

Admission is $5 and goes to the musicians. Beer, wine, soda and snacks are available in the lobby.

Music in the Box is held in the Koger-Gamache Studio Theatre, a 75-seat black box space at Limelight Theatre, 11 Old Mission Ave.
