Garden club to host holiday home tour

The 47th annual Tour of Homes is an integral part of celebrating Christmas in St. Augustine.

The tour, sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine, will feature historical homes decorated with fresh wreaths, garlands and floral arrangements.

The walking tour gives participants a rare opportunity to see inside beautiful homes and landmarks dating from the early 1600s.

This year’s tour, “Christmas in St. Augustine 1565-2015,” will be from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 6. Tickets are $25 and include an afternoon tea and boutique from 1 to 5 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church.

The boutique will feature handmade treats and crafts created by Garden Club members.

Private Residents and Public Buildings on the tour include:

■ “Oldest House” The Gonzalez-Alvarez House, built in 1702

■ Markland House, built in 1839
