Exhibits and extended shopping during Uptown Saturday Night on San Marco Avenue

Exhibits and extended shopping during Uptown Saturday Night on San Marco Avenue.

What it is

Uptown Saturday Night was started seven years ago by gallery owner and artist, Wendy Tatter, and takes place on from 5 to 9 p.m the last Saturday of every month in the Uptown San Marco Shopping District. Refreshments, hors d’oeuvres, book signings, live music and workshops can be anticipated from boutiques and shops that line San Marco Avenue. The free event is sponsored by the San Marco Avenue Merchants Association.

Why they do it

The monthly event helps expose small businesses and creates goodwill among the community. “Hopefully it creates business as well,” said Bill Rosenthal, owner of Antique Emporium.
